Free Walk-in Diabetes Screening

Monday, August 17
11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Diabetes currently affects 23.6 million Americans according to the American Diabetes Association. Of those 23.6 million, over 5 million don't even know they have the disease and won't until they develop one of its complications. Because the symptoms of diabetes often develop gradually, many people go an average of eight years before being diagnosed. If the disease isn't caught early, it can cause significant damage to the eyes, kidneys or other organs.

Early detection is so important and a simple blood test is the easiest and most accurate way to determine if you have type 2 diabetes. Individuals over age 40 should have a yearly blood glucose test.

As a service to the community, Dr. Shannon C. McDonald with Southern Hills Family Medicine of Brentwood is providing these free walk-in diabetes screenings.

No reservations necessary!
