This four week class will look at simple, practical and scientifically proven (yet ancient techniques) reducing stress and relieving anxiety. We will explore the causes of stress from the perspective of the nervous system and how traditional approaches such as breathing techniques, yoga postures, and various forms of meditation, such as Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Guided Visualization, and Progressive Relaxation approaches work to soothe the autonomic nervous system, the physiological responses to stress, with an eye on finding the practical approach that works best for you.
