Join a book club in 2013! The Brentwood Library's book discussion groups are open to all, and you don't need to register in advance. Just read the book and come prepared to meet new people and take part in a lively discussion. We have groups that meet in the morning and evening, so you're sure to find one that will fit your schedule.
Our morning book group will meet on Tuesday, January 22 at 10:00 a.m. They will be reading Fall of Giants by Ken Follett. Amazon says, "From the dirt and danger of a coal mine to the glittering chandeliers of a
palace, from the corridors of power to the bedrooms of the mighty, Fall of
Giants takes us into the inextricably entangled fates of five families—and
into a century that we thought we knew, but that now will never seem the same
again."
Our evening book club will meet on Wednesday, January 16 at 6:30 p.m. They will be reading The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. Amazon says, "It’s just a small story really, about among other things: a girl, some words, an
accordionist, some fanatical Germans, a Jewish fist-fighter, and quite a lot of
thievery. . . This is an
unforgettable story about the ability of books to feed the soul."
Check out your copies now, and join us soon for a lively discussion!
