Spring internships available


The Brentwood Library is excited to be offering two unpaid internship opportunities during the Spring semester. Applications are available online. Please share this information with any college students you know who may be interested.


Author Event

Description/Responsibilities: The Brentwood Library Foundation is a nonprofit organization that solicits contributions in support of The Brentwood Library. The Brentwood Library is seeking an intern to assist in planning and executing the annual Author Event hosted at the library.

Qualifications: Applicants should be students with a background in communications, literature, language arts, non-profit management, library sciences, or business with a flair for event planning. Duties include but are not limited to: emailing save-the-date, mailing invitations, electronic invitations, working with sponsors and vendors, administrative tasks, and hosting the event. Intern must have reliable transportation.

Position Type: Unpaid, part-time internship; 8-10 hours per week; weekday availability, with some evenings including the night of the event; flexible scheduling

Social Media and Internet Marketing

Description/Responsibilities:  The Brentwood Library seeks an intern to assist with a social media campaign. The intern will work with the Special Projects Manager to increase awareness, drive internet traffic, and other marketing activities as assigned.

Qualifications:  Applicants should possess excellent written and oral communication skills, have an understanding of LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, as well as an understanding of social media best practices.  

Position type:  Unpaid, part-time internship; 8-10 hours per week; flexible scheduling.

Internship Opportunity


The Brentwood Library is now accepting applications for an unpaid Fall internship opportunity. Applications are available online. Please share this information with any college business majors you know who may be interested.

This internship position will provide substantial experience in nonprofit fundraising, researching donor prospects, solicitation strategizing, in addition to gaining valuable office experience working in a fabulous atmosphere. The intern will be encouraged to take a leadership role in spearheading their own project within the objectives.

Description
The Brentwood Library Foundation is a non-profit organization that solicits contributions in support of The Brentwood Library. The Annual Fund is the yearly fundraising drive. Duties include but are not limited to the following:
  • design a brochure
  • write corporate, small business, and individual solicitation letters
  • organize printing needs
  • process mailings
  • track and report donations
  • work with library employees to meet goals
Responsibilities
Must be able to follow directions and work independently to plan and implement a fundraising drive focusing on three levels - corporate, small business, and personal.

Requirements
IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Personable, friendly, eager to learn
Must have reliable transportation
Must live close enough to Brentwood to commute
Well-organized and detail oriented
Ability to multi task, take initiative, and follow-through
Passionate, hard worker, dependable, responsible
Able to spend 10-15 hours per week
