Learn the ancient basket weaving technique called twining and then use your new skills to make a unique hanging basket for garlic or other small items. No experience necessary.

Susan Vandyke has over 30 years experience making baskets and teaching art. She is certified as an Art Teacher and as a School Librarian. Susan is currently in the Master of Arts in Teaching program at Belmont University.

Registration required.
Come make a Halloween card and two mailing tags, while learning (or re-learning) some basic craft techniques - embossing powders, masks, and distress inks, to name a few. This class is for adults.

M. C. Sparks has an A. A. degree, and has been active in the arts and crafts world for 30 years. She loves all types of arts, from sculpting to oil painting, and crafts from soap making to card making.

Chinese Paper Cutting


Try your hand at one of the oldest and most popular folk arts in China: paper cutting.

These lovely cut-outs are used to decorate windows and doors and are sometimes referred to as chuang hua, or window flowers. In this class, adults can learn to create these beautiful paper decorations. Although the class is intended for adults, children ages 10 and older may accompany a parent or guardian. The $10 class fee cover instruction and all materials.

Brighten up your home and your spirits from these past dreary, cold, icy days of winter with a dazzling bouquet of daffodils and tulips, along with an array of complimentary variegated greens.
 
Bring a vase (not to exceed 8 inches) or a lined straw basket that you can fill with the glorious colors of spring. The class fee of $15.00 per person includes flowers, greenery, and foam.

Rubber Stamping 101 Class

Learn the art of rubber-stamping to make gorgeous, handmade greeting cards. In this beginner’s course, you’ll learn the basics of stamping – the different ways to achieve color, the various tools used, the lingo and terminology associated with card making, the different types of ink, etc.  Everything is pre-designed and pre-cut for you, so there is no pressure to come up with your own creations. We will offer a variety of greetings to choose from.

  • Hats and scarves (child to adult) for local shelters and non-profit groups

Teen Books n Crafts Selection for January

If you're in middle school or high school, you're welcome to join us next Thursday for Teen Books n Crafts! This month's book is Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl. Read the book before the movie, and make a Zentangle Hand Journal! It's free, but please register in advance so we have enough supplies for everyone.

German Paper Stars Class

The folded German star is an old paper craft. The star is used as a Christmas tree ornament or as an individual decoration. Combinations of the paper stars can be used to make other items such as baskets, package bows, and more!

Knit or Crochet a Santa Hat

Knit or crochet a jolly Santa hat just in time for the Christmas holiday! Please bring these supplies: Red and white yarn of your choice in similar sizes (2 oz. of each color) and the crochet hook or knitting needles specified on the yarn package. This is a two session class.
