Big Announcement! An Evening with Ann Patchett at the Brentwood Library

The Brentwood Library Foundation is thrilled to welcome Ann Patchett to our annual Evening with the Authors event on April 12! Ann Patchett is the New York Times bestselling author of State of Wonder, Bel Canto, Run, The Patron Saint of Liars, Taft, The Magician’s Assistant, What Now? and Truth & Beauty. She has won the PEN/Faulkner Award, the Orange Prize, the BookSense Book of the Year, and was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award. These days, the best-selling novelist is also a co-owner of Parnassus Books in Nashville, a bookstore thriving even at a time when e-books are just a click away.

She's not the first writer to own a bookstore, but because of her timing and literary stature, Ann Patchett is a true book advocate for our times. In November 2012 she hosted a conversation with J.K. Rowling at New York's Lincoln Center. In April 2012 she made the 2012 Time 100: The Most Influential People in the World list. She even appeared on The Colbert Report in February 2012. In April 2013, Ann Patchett will be appearing at The Brentwood Library, sharing her love for books as well as her experience as an internationally known author.

Reserve your tickets now for this very special evening. Click here to make your reservation online, or call 615-371-0090, ext. 8000. Credit cards are accepted. Be part of the book movement and join us for an evening filled with good food, drink, and conversation at The Brentwood Library.

An Evening at the Library, sponsored by the Brentwood Library Foundation, is in just two days. This is a wonderful chance to meet notable local authors Phil Valentine, Howard Klaurner, Dr. Paul D. Parsons, and Sigmund Brouwer.

Phil Valentine is heard on over 70 radio stations across the country through Westwood One. He’s an author of The Conservative’s Handbook, Right From the Heart: The ABC’s of Reality in America, and Tax Revolt. A weekly columnist for newspapers across the country, Phil has contributed to The Tennessean, Talkers Magazine, Insight Magazine, and many others. He has just finished production of a feature length documentary, “An Inconsistent Truth”. He has appeared in a supporting role the motion picture “A Letter From Death Row” as well as on many television shows including The O’Reilly Factor and Hannity & Colmes.

Filmmaker Howard Klausner is a twenty year producer of film, television, and literary content. Beginning with the Clint Eastwood directed blockbuster “Space Cowboys”, followed by a year as a production rewrite specialist, his most recent screen credits include “Soul Surfer”, “The Grace Card”, “Outlaw Dreams”, and Henry Thomas’ depiction of singer Hank Williams’ last days, “The Last Ride”, debuting summer 2012. Klausner’s screenplay for “Reagan”, the biopic of our 40th President, goes into production later this year, and “The Identical” shoots late July in Nashville. He is set to direct his script “The Hardcourt” early 2013. Howard lives in Franklin, Tennessee, with his wife Heather, and three daughters.
