Honoring the Dream

The Brentwood Library will be closed on Monday January 19th in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Dr. King once said "Life's most persistent and urgent question is: 'What are you doing for others?'"

Americans across the country come together in honor of Dr. King to serve their neighbors and communities every January. We encourage you to help out a neighbor, lend a hand to someone in need, and celebrate Dr. King's legacy. Hands on Nashville has volunteer opportunities on Saturday, January 17th and Monday, January 19th.

The library will reopen at 9am on Tuesday, January 20th.

The Brentwood Library will close on Wednesday, December 31 at 6pm and be closed Thursday, January 1. We will reopen on Friday, January 2 at 9am. Happy New Year!

Closing Information

The Brentwood Library will be closed on Tuesday, November 11th for Staff Training. We will open on Wednesday, Nov 12th at 9am.

Holiday Closings

Merry Christmas! The library will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but we'll re-open on Monday morning at 9:00 a.m.

Happy Thanksgiving! The library will close early this evening at 6 p.m., and we'll be closed all day on Thursday, November 24 and Friday, November 25. But don't worry--We'll re-open at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 26 so you can check out a cookbook to figure out what to do with all those leftovers, and a few yoga DVDs to help you work off all that pumpkin pie!

Reminder: No Story Time this Wednesday

The Brentwood Library will be closed on Wednesday morning.

The library will reopen at Noon, but we'll be re-routing foot traffic thru the Meeting Room hallway and Children's Library.

All library services will be available. Thank you for your patience as the lobby improvements continue! Self check out stations will be here soon.

Lobby changes are scheduled for next week

On Wednesday morning, the library will be closed. When the library opens at Noon, there will be new counter tops at the Circulation desk.

We'll be re-routing traffic thru the meeting room hallway and into the Children's Library. Be sure to check out Nancy Boyd Johnson's art display. She enhances digital images to make stunning works of art, like this one.

Self check out stations are coming soon! New built-in furniture will be added to the lobby on Thursday.

You can still check out materials, pick up holds, and return items during this final phase of construction. Library staff are here to help! Please let us know if you have any questions via email, or call 371-0090.

Library closed Sunday and Monday

The Extreme Lobby Makeover is coming!

On Friday, April 30, the Brentwood Library will be closed.

Library staff will be busy doing inventory, and the Extreme Lobby Makeover is scheduled to begin (and hopefully end!) that day.

The circulation desk will get a new counter top, and the risers at the front will be removed.

This summer, there will two self checkout stations on one side of the desk, as shown here. There will always be staff at the desk to assist you, no matter how you choose to check out.

The Art Lending Library will be moved to the Fiction section. We're adding more counter space in the alcove to get ready for self checkout machines this summer!

The Quilters Guild will still be displaying quilts at the library, although some will have to be removed for this brief one day of construction.

Library closed on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

We'll be closed this coming Monday, January 18, in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. The library will reopen on Tuesday, January 19 at 9:00 a.m.

Looking for free, high quality videos to watch online when we're closed? Check out free streaming PBS programs for all ages at http://video.pbs.org/. It's hard to play favorites with so many great shows to choose from, but my top picks include History Detectives and Sesame Street Classic.

Columbus Day library closing

The library will close for inventory next Monday, October 12. We will reopen that evening from 5:00-8:00 p.m., and then normal full hours will begin the following day.

Independence Day

The library will be closed on Saturday, July 4 in honor of Independence Day. We'll reopen with normal hours on Sunday from 1:00-6:00. Brentwood's 4th of July celebration kicks off at 7:00 at Crockett Park. To beat the crowds, you'll want to arrive early. See you there!
