Library Holiday Closing

The Library will be closed Monday, January 18
in observation of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
 We will reopen for regular hours at 9am on Tuesday, January 19.

The Library will be closed Thursday, December 24th and Friday, December 25th. 
It will reopen for regular hours at 10am on Saturday, December 26th.

Thanksgiving Holiday Library Closing

The Library will close at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, November 25th, and will remain closed Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27.  The Library will reopen on Saturday, November 28 at 10:00 AM.

Williamson Wind Quintet


Join us for an afternoon of great holiday music!
 
Sunday, December 21st at 3pm
 
The Williamson Wind Quintet will play selections of Christmas music-songs that you can sing to and songs that you can sit back and enjoy. There will be something for everyone at this free concert!
 
The Williamson Wind Quintet is a group of musicians who play with the Williamson County Community Band. They formed their quintet in 2011 and are available for performances in the greater Nashville area.
 
No registration necessary.

Thanksgiving hours


The Brentwood Library will close early on Wednesday, November 26th at 6pm. The library will be closed on Thursday and Friday, the 27th and 28th. We will reopen on Saturday, November 29th at 10am.

Creating a Keepsake Holiday Wreath



Deck the halls with joy and decorate your home with personal treasured keepsakes. Create your own colorful holiday wreath to use on your door or as a pillar candle holder to accent a table. 

Thursday, November 20th from 1-3pm

Learn how to wire ribbons, fruit, berries, cones, and ornaments to decorate your own personalized centerpiece. Bring clippers, scissors, hot glue gun, at least 9 yards of 1 1/2 inch wired ribbon of your choice, and old ornaments filled with memories. You'll also learn how to update and recycle the wreath for years to come.

Class Fee: $30.  The following supplies are included: a pine wreath, conifer cuttings, wire, and holly.

Instructor: Elaine Rohrig is a Past President of the New Neighbors Garden Club. She's excelled in numerous Tennessee Federated Garden Club Flower Shows, displayed her design expertise at the Williamson County Fair, and has taught floral design to novices and Master Gardeners.

Note: Minimum 8 students are required to hold class.

Enjoy a visit with our featured guest—Santa!
Bring your camera and plan on staying for refreshments. 
 
Magician Scott Humston will be on hand again this year to amaze and delight us  with his fascinating magic and hilarious showmanship. The magic show will be offered at three times:  9:30am, 10:30am and 11:30am. 
 
You must have a ticket to participate in either the Morning with Santa or the Magic Show. Tickets are available beginning Monday, November 17th at the Children's Desk. These are free events, but tickets are required.

The tree lighting’s special music will be provided by the Ravenwood High School Chorus.

Join is for a laid back class that will present 20 easy ideas on Harvest Decorating, 21 easy Christmas Decorating ideas, and 9 easy Hanukkah Decorating ideas. We will be discussing how to use simple, every day items from around the house to decorate your home for the holidays.

Fall Floral Arrangement Design Class

Is Thanksgiving at your house this year? Wow your guests with a beautiful fall arrangement for your table. Learn how to use fruit, vegetables, and flowers to decorate for the coming holiday season. Bring a vase that will fit your table, remembering that your guests will need to see over it to chat.

* Bring ribbon, candles, or special additions from your yard like: Locust, Rain tree pods, beauty berries, clusters of nuts, dried grains, corn shucks, dried okra, feathers, cat tails, pinecones, etc to personalize your design.

Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and Reading of The Polar Express

Don’t miss out on one of Brentwood’s most cherished traditions! Join us on Monday, December 3rd for the dedication and lighting of the City’s holiday tree. The evening is filled with music, holiday treats, warm cider, and a visitor that seems to appear right from the pages of a very special book. This is a wonderful family experience you’ll want to make a tradition for years to come! Special Music provided by the Ravenwood High School Choir.

    German Paper Stars Class

    The folded German star is an old paper craft. The star is used as a Christmas tree ornament or as an individual decoration. Combinations of the paper stars can be used to make other items such as baskets, package bows, and more!

    The Easter Egg Hunt is Thursday, April 5


    Please come to the Easter Egg Hunt at the sports field next to the library. Come at 2:45 to meet the Easter Bunny, get your face painted, and to play the Jellybean Guess game. The hunt starts promptly at 3:15, and we recommend being here and ready to hunt by 3:05. In case of rain, the festivities will be held inside the library in Meeting Room B.

    If you searched online for information about the Egg Hunt and pulled up a webpage describing last year's event, please disregard that information. This year's Egg Hunt starts at 3:15.

    Holiday Closings


    Merry Christmas! The library will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but we'll re-open on Monday morning at 9:00 a.m.

    Did you ask for an eReader for Christmas? You can visit the library the day after Christmas to download eBooks for your new Kindle or Nook!

    Tree Lighting Ceremony and reading of The Polar Express

    Don’t miss out on one of Brentwood’s most cherished traditions! Join us Monday, December 5th for the dedication and lighting of the City’s holiday tree. The evening is filled with special music, holiday treats, warm cider, and a visitor that seems to appear right from the pages of a very special book.

    There will be two readings of The Polar Express taking place around the warmth of the library’s fireplace. Tickets to the reading are free and are available on a “first-come, first-served” basis in the Children’s Library. This is a wonderful family experience you’ll want to make a tradition for years to come!

    The library will be re-opening soon!

    Happy Thanksgiving! The library will close early this evening at 6 p.m., and we'll be closed all day on Thursday, November 24 and Friday, November 25. But don't worry--We'll re-open at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 26 so you can check out a cookbook to figure out what to do with all those leftovers, and a few yoga DVDs to help you work off all that pumpkin pie!
