Volunteering at The Brentwood Library

The Brentwood Library always welcomes new volunteers. Wonder what a volunteer at the library does? Read on to find out!

The Brentwood Library depends on our fabulous volunteers to help us shelve books in both the Children's Department and the Circulation Department. Any time we are open, we try to have a volunteer scheduled to shelve returned books, DVDs, CDs, and audios back onto the shelf for the next patron to check out.

We also have a dedicated group of adult volunteers who work in the Administrative Office answering phones, making copies, preparing mailings, and other office tasks. These positions are Monday through Friday from 9am-5pm.

We ask that volunteers commit to a two hour weekly shift and commit to volunteering for a minimum of four months. All volunteers must be at least 14 years of age.

Whether you are looking to fulfill a school requirement, work toward a complimentary volunteer library card, spend more time in the library, or give back to your community, we look forward to hearing from you!

Pick up a volunteer application at the Circulation Desk or print a teen application or adult application and turn it in at the Circulation Desk. Our Volunteer Coordinator Brigid Day will be happy to hear from you!
