Call for Auditions - Shakespeare in Spoken Word

Saturday, April 30, 11:00 AM—12:30 PM,
with discussion to follow.
Presenters will have the room from 10:00-10:45 to prepare. 

What: Combining the works of William Shakespeare and Spoken Word – uniting past, present, and enduring themes and emotions 

Rules, Regulations, and Guidelines: 
  • Pick a scene, pick a character, or summarize a play or sonnet for your performance. Make sure to note which scene, character, play, or sonnet you are choosing for your performance. 
  • There are two categories: under 3 minutes and 3-5 minutes. 
  • No coarse language, nudity, sex, gore, or violence. These performances must be G – PG-13 as there may be children or teens present.
  •  All presenters must apply in advance.   
APPLICATIONS: To apply, send an audio file OR a video file of any one of your performances along with your name and contact information to shakespeare400@brentwoodtn.gov. 
In case we receive more applications that we can accommodate, a wait list will be activated. Applicants will be notified either way.
 
NOTE: If you choose to apply, you will be held accountable for following the content guidelines set herein. Should you choose not to follow those guidelines, we can and will cut you off during your performance.
