We hope you've had a chance to meet the newest member of the library team, the Automated Material Handler (AMH). If not, please stop by and introduce yourself, because we need you to help us give her a name.
We invite you to submit names for our new AMH system. We love her
already and want to find the perfect name for her. Either e-mail Heather
at lanierh@brentwood-tn.org or leave a name with the front desk staff
before August 21st. Circulation Staff will choose the winner by the end
of the month, and we will announce it in September’s newsletter.
Just in case you're wondering, here's how she works. The AMH checks in your items immediately as you feed them into the slot. (One item at a time,folks!)
It will check in your items, sort them for library staff’s convenience,
and get them routed to the next person who has them on hold.
If you place a book that doesn't belong to our library in slot, it will kindly give it back to you on the spot.
You will receive an email with a detailed report of items you have returned.
Can you still use the manual return? Well, for now, yes. But we’d really like you to give the new one a try.
